Simon

Suzette Simon is a breast cancer survivor, advocate, and founder of the comedy nonprofit NYLaughs.org. (Her story: YouTube)

She lost her mother to breast cancer. However, it wasn't until she was diagnosed with the disease, that she understood the disparities in breast cancer survival and treatment.

With that, Suzette launched #StrongBlackBoobs.

With the hashtag #StrongBlackBoobs, the initiative aims to tackle the high mortality rates faced by black women diagnosed with breast cancer.

Using stand-up comedy, storytelling, boob puppetry, breast cancer awareness song parodies, performance art she calls “TittyProtesting,” boob animation, and more, #StrongBlackBoobs delivers a powerful message about breast health in an engaging and accessible manner.

Suzette can discuss:

· Her personal battle with breast cancer

· Her desire to destigmatize the conversation around breast cancer, particularly for Black women, who often feel neglected, marginalized, or disregarded in this battle

· How she uses her comedy platform to empower and educate women
