This is important. Medication has to be approved by the DFA before it can be offered to the public. Since 1962, clinical trials have not included pregnant women. Why? Drugs such as thalidomide and DES (diethylstilbestrol) to pregnant women in the past with unwanted and unexpected side effects. Currently, many are promoting including pregnant and lactating women in clinical research/drug trials. Is it a good idea?
